Medieval Castle - Intro
-General Informations-
This is a paper model of an early middle-age castle named Louvaillac.
The place is pure fiction but would have been somewhere in Gascoigne in the South-west part of France. It is supposed to be from the13th century made over from a Gallo-roman settlement.
It have been imagined by a GM of Ars Magica and used for setting many campaigns.
-Dimensions-
Completed, the entire model is approximately 55cm L x 45cm W x 20cm H (21.5" L x 17.75" W x 8" H).
The board stand (where all pieces are going to be glued on) we used was black foamboard. You can use different material but the foamboard worked convincingly well in our case.
The final size depends on the frame you plan to use (if any). You’ll have to get a frame first then adapt the size of your board to fit it. You’ll have to get this ready only at the final assembly so there’s no hurry to get one.
-Cut-out Pages-
There are 35 pages divided in 4 sets. Some of the pages need to be printed more than once (curtain walls for example). The total is given in the assembly procedures.
The inner ward:
The Donjon / The Donjon Add-ons / The Garnison / The Forge / The Baths
The inner Stone walls (Curtain walls):
The Main Gate / The Curtain walls /The Pillars / The Stairs
The outer Lodging:
Tower / Box Houses / Angle House / Dovecote / Arches and Ramps / Two level House
The outer wood walls (curtain walls):
The Barbican / The Wood Curtain walls / The Watchtower / The Staples
The complete model need all four sets (ZIP of PDF). However it’s possible to work with only the two first set of thinner ward and stone curtain walls.
The cut-outs pages can be downloaded as set of individually as JPG.
-Working Time-
Between 20 and 25 hours.
